VI. Furious Angels    

This is based around a quote I’ve had in my head for a while now, “the meek do not inherit, the meek get squished” considering it was Jesus who said the meek shall inherit the earth I figured the angels would take umbrage with that, in my head, the angels figured they would have the earth sooner or later…for reasons best known to themselves. The dead sunflower annoys my angel especially. Everyone knows meek people make rubbish gardeners and often let things die!


V. Behind Every Man There Is…

…A frankly terrifying woman. I actually explained this was Lady Macbeth, perhaps this was unnecessary, what with the quote, dagger and blood it’s pretty obvious no?
I always liked Lady Macbeth, I kind of pitied her, she has all this ambition but at the end of it all, the stress gets to her, it’s nice to know humanity will kick in at some point. She has roses in her hair for if she were called anything but Lady Macbeth people wouldn’t judge her so harshly, like Macbeth himself, if the temptation hadn’t been put in front of him, he wouldn’t have taken it…hrmm?  


IV. Mitigating Circumstances

For those of you who don’t know who Elly Kedward is (and those who don’t full view…do it now & look at her left hand) the subject of this piece is the Blair Witch. I don’t like the bad press on witches, it irritates me. Although this story is fiction this manner of behaviour actually happened. After several brattish (probably bored) children accused her of kidnapping them, she was driven out of her town to die of exposure…hrm, cruel. I read somewhere that people usually only kill children for either mad revenge (deranged insanity) or love. Elly killed for revenge, Medea killed for love (as her quote suggests). Medea was clearly mentally ill. But Elly Kedward? Translated to modern day, I believe that if my grandmother was killed because of a group of teenage chavettes had nothing better to do that stir up trouble she’d be back from the grave hunting for their blood so… I’m on the fence.


III. Sweet Jane

As I’ve already said, this is based on the CSI Vegas episode of the same name, in this episode, it’s about a number of unidentified girls (Jane Does) who are raped and killed in all their innocence. It really chilled me…ahh, there’s nothing deeper in this piece, watch the episode…the lily in her hair, is of course, for purity, I reckon it contrasts rather well (disturbingly) with the bruise on the side of her face.


II. Haematophilia

The Dictionary defines it as a sexual fetish for blood. As long as I’ve known her I’ve always associated Tanya here with edgy fetish photography more often than not containing blood somewhere (though not so much recently…more Dita Von Teese pretty recently) Anyhoo, as I suggested in the description, her art would be a first stop for the avid blood-fetishist! Consider this an advert! I figured it would be too blah to make the colours on this red…*snooze* but I settled with a slight variation of orange. Where I did allow red are the “blood-stars” at the top of the image. Blood-Stars for my Rock-Star    


I. Mi Observación

Though I can’t speak a word of it, I trust that this is ‘My Observation’ in Spanish (thanks to an online dictionary) and the piece itself (the first in this slowly expanding set) was just that. I was becoming dangerously obsessed with the Timbaland song “Give it to Me” featuring Meister Timberlake & the pixie-ly pretty Nelly Furtado. The part of the song I loved best was Nelly’s verse, especially the line “ I'm a supermodel and a mami, sí mami!” overcome with the desire to create something to do with it I scanned through my trusty list of DA stock-artists (that I love!) I became despicably exited when scooting through mizzd-stock’s beautiful gallery I realised she fitted perfectly with the lyrics! She is a supermodel and a mother (si mami!..hehe) much love to little Lyra! Noting the title, yes, I’m very well aware that Nelly Furtado is in fact Canadian (of Portuguese decent) not Spanish, but I couldn’t find a Portuguese dictionary online. I shouldn’t have bothered either way though as stupid DA didn’t allow the correct spelling of  Observación cause they’re stupid.
